Giving
Generosity is the New Testament standard; a
tithe is probably the lower bound of generosity. Giving has more purpose
than "to keep the ministry going." Hype or manipulation
is not a suitable stimulus for giving. Giving is not to be elevated
to a higher priority than where it belongs. The Lord is the Provider.
Giving will bring the blessings of God.
People
People are the Church (not anything else).
Everything revolves around God and people.
Facilities
Our building is meant to serve us, we don't serve the building.
Dress
Everyone is encouraged to dress according to
his/her own lifestyle (with appropriate modesty) and preferences.
Leadership Style
God is the Leader. The pastoral leaders of
the church seek to represent Him. They are neither too passive (providing
insufficient direction) nor too directive (not enough direct interaction
between the Lord and His sheep).
The Lord's Supper
The Lord's Supper is a time of Communion with
God and a touchpoint to Him. It happens in both our large group
and small group meetings and is open to all whose hearts belong
to Jesus.
Baptism
The sacrament of baptism is appropriate for
all who believe and have not already been baptized. It is a public
statement of faith and an identification with the Lord Jesus Christ.
Money, Sex, and Power
Trinity Vineyard values compassion towards
those in need, absolute moral integrity, and a lack of selfish ambition
